| No Arena Football in Yakima in 2008
The arena football team Yakima was expecting won't arrive until 2009 at the earliest. Spokane Shock owner Brady Nelson has been helping broker the deal with an unidentified investor in the area. Nelson told the Yakima Herald that the investor did not meet the AF2 league deadline to come up with the$500,000 franchise fee. Nelson had previously said he expected the deal to be done in time for the 2008 season. Yakima's team would be in the same AF2 division as the Tri-Cities Fever and the Spokane Shock. The Fever moved from the NIFL to the AF2 prior to the 2007 season. .

Film and television studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc unveiled plans on Tuesday to launch a high-definition television channel this fall on the DirecTV satellite service with a mix of movies and original programs. The channel is MGM's first stand-alone HD service in the United States and it marks a major expansion for the studio. Chief Executive Harry Sloan called the launch a "milestone event" for MGM, the home of the James Bond film franchise. "To grow significantly, we need to build assets. Over the last few years, we've launched channels all over Europe and now an HD channel in the U.S. gives us that growth opportunity" here, Slone told Reuters. He declined to discuss financial details. For DirecTV, the deal helps bolster content for its plans to roll out 100 new HD channels by the end of this year.
Fireglow to digitally distribute 1C UK games
Fireglow Games has announced an agreement with 1C UK to digitally distribute seven of 1C's full-scale PC games. �We are happy to announce our global digital distribution agreement with 1C. The specific 1C titles covered by the agreement were not specified. Fireglow Games is best known for its Sudden Strike franchise. .
